First stop on a trip to Seattle. Food came out quick. Server was attentive. And we loved the food. We ordered the chicken sandwich and the chicken tenders and they were both delicious. The tenders were perfection --- nice and crispy batter with a really juicy and soft inside. Honestly might be one of the best tender I ever had. Only con was the bun from the chicken sandwich started to fall apart under the weight of the sauce and pickles.
I really enjoyed the atmosphere of this business. It's very open and the seating does accommodate bigger groups. Its definitely good place to have some drinks with friends. The staff was very friendly and fast with the service they provided. I do wish the menu had a more food options because I did feel it lacked variety. I ended up ordering the chicken strips and French fries, both were very delicious but my coleslaw was very bland. I didn't spend too much time here but I'd certainly come back here and next time I'd like explore the drinks. cheers!
Fried chicken happy hour! My friends and I came here, specifically for the fried chicken happy hour and it did not disappoint. When we arrived close to 5:30, the place was packed. The entire tavern serves happy hour, but it was a little cray, trying to find a place to sit for the four of us. Get here early! Despite how busy and packed the place was, the service was awesome. Our server helped us immediately after we found a table and frequently checked in with us. We were pleased by how efficient our server was, and she even checked in with us before happy hour ended, to make sure we didn't want to order anything else off of that menu. I ordered the Foghorn Leghorn Sando and had some fries that my friend shared with the table. The Foghorn Leghorn Sando is a chicken sandwich with three tenders, cole slaw and house sauce on a soft bun. It wasn't too shabby, and I enjoyed the sandwich, even though I would've preferred a fried chicken breast or boneless thigh as the base versus tenders. But it was still solid. It had a little too much of the sauce on it, which reminded me of mayo with a spice to it. Yet overall, I enjoyed the sandwich and for a T-Doug eatery, nine bucks for a sandwich is cheap. Fries were bomb! They were perfectly crispy and seasoned well with some herbs. For a dipping sauce it's an additional fee, but get the house-made ranch. It went very well with the fries. I would come back to Brave Horse Tavern, especially because the beer list is one of the best in the area. There were lots of Washington crafts on tap, including a good selection of IPAs. They also have skee ball here! Brave Horse Tavern is a fun place to hang out, drink some beers and to take advantage of the better-than-bar food deals on happy hour in South Lake Union.
The food here was excellent and service was great. My friend and I shared the pizza tots and cod dip, and each got a deluxe burger with fries. It was probably a bit too much food but you have to live your best life. The pizza tots were amazing, I almost cried when I ate them. But eat them while they're hot, cause the pizza sauce flavor was a bit overwhelming after we tried to eat more towards the end of the meal. The burger was juicy and the cheese was delicious. The fries came out piping hot and were delicious as well.
I have two words: PIZZA. TOTS. Get them, they are delicious and executed well here! Two guilty pleasures emerged into one beautiful little love child, what's not to like? The peps were crisped to perfection too, just how I like 'em. If you're feeling extra wild & saucy, get a side of ranch with it. Jell-O shots were fun (they're all themed on local teams: Seahawks, UW, WSU, etc.) and a good way to kick-off the night. Jell-o shots and tots, you really can't go wrong!
